Experience Jaisalmer

Step out into the Golden City.

The Fort, the havelis, the lake, the market and the dunes — in the order that makes sense when you only have two days.

Three moods of Jaisalmer.

The living Fort in warm sandstone, Gadisar Lake when the city is quiet, and Sam as the last amber light gives way to indigo.

Two days, planned

If you arrive on a morning train and leave the evening after next, this is the shape most of our guests end up with.

Day one, morning

Walk up into the Fort before the lanes fill. Come down through the havelis — Patwa Haveli is about a kilometre from Shiv Road — and stop for lunch in the city.

Day one, evening

Gadisar Lake at golden hour, then the market on the way back. Dinner on the rooftop at Hotel Moonlight.

Day two, afternoon

Drive out to Sam, 45 km one way. Camel riding before sunset, folk music and dance after dark, and a Rajasthani buffet in the dunes.

Day two, or a spare day

If you have a third day, spend it at the Nature Resort: the pool in the afternoon, horse riding for the children, dinner out on the lawn.
