The property

Built in the Jaisalmer idiom, and still run by the family.

Hotel Moonlight sits in the middle of Jaisalmer, bordered by the monuments that made the Golden City famous. The building is local yellow sandstone: carved jharokhas and gokharas, tibaris, fountains, hand-painted ceilings.

Rooms are air-conditioned and spacious, with attached bathrooms and running hot and cold water. Food is pure vegetarian. Most guests end the day one floor up, on the roof.
